I am a history geek, writer, introvert, indulger of day-long film & tv series marathons, and habitual procrastinator. I love the smell of rainy days, hot tea, and staying up all night reading.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay - J.K. Rowling Magic is back, muggles.

I was trying to ignore the existence of this book because of the last fiasco of Rowling, Cursed Child. Instead I started to spend my reading time by revisiting the series over and over again. Then I could not help it and read it today. OMG, it was phenomenal.

Newt Schmankerl is a shy, eccentric Brit magizoologist who is visiting 1926 New York City on a mission involving his fascination with fantastic creatures. He is like a Potter version of Ash Ketchum who is ready to capture magical creatures, Pokémon style.
He just want to protect his beastly friends, but the world won’t leave him in peace. Some of his charges become free after some events, so he have to recapture all of them.
Different from other books of the series, story focused on adult characters who are living in an adult world. It has many dark and creepy elements.
Story takes place in America so we can finally learn more about history of magic in America and how the wizarding schools in America started.
I hoped that J. K. Rowling will not rest until every muggle (or non-magical folk, No-Maj) on this earth has appreciated this beautiful magical world of Harry Potter.

Note to myself: And now I want my own pet bowtruckle army for my noisy neighbors.
